Sarasota County Parks hosts the 50th Annual Sandy Claws Beach Run featuring a chip-timed 5K and 1-mile fun run on Siesta Beach.
Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources, in partnership with presenting sponsor New Balance University, proudly hosts the 50th Annual Sandy Claws Beach Run, a longtime tradition in Sarasota's running community. Set a fast pace across the hard-packed, world-renowned sand of Siesta Beach in the chip-timed 5K, sanctioned by the Manasota Track Club and part of the MTC Race Series, or enjoy a leisurely morning stroll along the shore in the 1-mile fun run. Participants can also enjoy finisher medals for all participants, custom awards for first through sixth place finishers in all 5K age categories, music, food and raffle prizes, and a holiday-themed costume contest.
